After having viewed the video over the topic of Building Construction, I want to share my ideas about constraction photo that I provided. Construction was a localised activity, but with the development of technology, construction processes and construction materials changes. This photograph shows development in building construction. This photo was taken in Ankara, Turkey. In Turkey the most common construction material is concrete. It is easy to supply, cheap and provides effective usage for county's climate conditions. However with all the globalization and development in constraction,new buildings are started to have new forms that are not easily obtained by concreate or ordinary metarials. The most basic example can be that, new buildings are trying to have more slab span instead of having coloums all over the space. So we are coming accross to the steel usage with new usage techniques more and more these days, which is not expensive, strong and provides light construction. So, in this picture, we can see one of usage of steel and concreate together. This kind of slabs are called as a "waffle slab" which makes us have a longer span without vertical support. We can see this type of construction more commonly.
