Hi everybody! This is Alvaro, from Lima, PerĂº. About Citizen Design Science, here we are doing lots of projects which are leaded by architects and supported by neighbors and citizens. These projects are mainly done by non-profit organizations, in areas that are said to be among the most difficult or problematic. However, even if these organizations work in poor or forgotten areas, the people who live in these areas are overall very empathetic and collaborative. These people might not have much resources but, they are friendly and support each other when trouble comes in. Since I am an architect myself, I am working with students from a college where I teach, in order to help and support neighbors to bring back to life open urban spaces such as parks and streets. To conclude, here in Lima, PerĂº, there are plenty of efforts that share similarities with citizen design science, but the government does not participate much. Also, I find problematic the fact that there are a lot of intentions and organizations but we all seem to work apart from the others. That is, we actually do not engage with each other much. This situation, hopefully, will improve with time. Best regards, Alvaro
