In Beijing while info is a bit hard to get about UHI effects since most people are not aware of the issue, we can see high level of asthma , warmer temperatures comparing with my 15 years stay in the city, From the pictures we can see how clear the skies can be from city center center to rural area , the exhaust of CO2 combined with street canyons can only make the temperature go higher. 3. Which are the measures you would propose? I would propose green buildings , cleaner atmosphere by removing polluting industries ( which the local Gov is doing ) bringing and supporting more companies and initiative that promote creativity based work, Increase more public transportation with a focus on Electrical vehicles and comfortable buses not overcrowded to over capacity and all seated no standing up. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? there is no direct local based policy , while we have national based laws and regulations. still at a local level UHI is not very understood.
