Route 1 Mode of Transportation Time Distance Walk 6 min 335 m Bus 30 min 5 km Tram 35 min 5.9 km Walk 4 min 268 m Total Time 75 min Total Distance Walked 603 m Route 2/same route, just by car/ Mode of Transportation Time Distance Car 13 min 10.8 km Total Time 13 min Total Distance Walked 0 m This is a representation of two routes to a caffe Blaznavac from my home, one by bus, and second by car. As you can see, car transportation is significantly faster but no, or very little walking is included (depending on a free parking place availability). Usually I go by car because if more comfortable when there is no traffic jam. Visual aspect of a car ride versus a bus/tram is similar, although tram offers better "human experience" interaction that bus or a car doesn't have. Walking distances are not too long, problem lies in terrain configuration, the slope of 335 m is big so it's difficult for elderly people on one side, on the other side it's a natural obstacle that is good for their health. Section that is traveled by bus is unattractive (car mechanic shops, markets, no trees, warehouses...), basically unwalkable. Tram section is attractive, walkable, with alley of trees, squares and parks, also popular for cycling. The amount of happiness is definitely bigger when traveling with a car, but the experience, people you see, stories, all those little things that happens when you're traveling with the city transport are unique and charming.
