As you can see lampposts and roads are pretty new and the surroundings look depopulated. The infrastructure works in Tena were aimed to connect it with the rest of the country and bring "progress", eventhough rainforest is one of the most important natural reserves in the world, local and national government didn't looked after the actual impact of this new infrastructure. This shows how the high dependence on infrastructure and the necesity to provide it as fast and far as posible, leads to forget important factors for a sustainable development.
