The Toronto Transit Commission is the third largest transit system in North American. It is comprised of three subway lines that travel a combined 69.9 km, 1 rapid transit system 6.4 km, using 700 subway cars, 249 street cars and 1800 buses. While the subway does not cover the whole city. Buses do cover the whole city and are used as a feeder system to the subway system. The picture I have included shows a TTC bus at a subway station, showing that method of public transportation. Regional buses from surrounding regions also take commuters to subway stations for their final commute within the city. The debate in Toronto is whether to expand the subway system to the areas not currently served or to use other systems like Light Rail. Whatever decision is finally made, it needs to make the daily commute decision obvious, that public transit is the better way. That by taking the cars off the road we can reduce green house emissions, level of carbon particles in the air and our impact on climate change. ![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1433022496331337.jpg
