I chose to post this picture for this task as not the obvious depiction of our dependency in 21st century's infrastructure per se but the abandoning of transportation means and therefore everyday life practices due to the embracing of such new infrastructure. Volos has one of the most significant ports in Greece, a fact that played an important role in the shaping of the community and the course of its financial market. In the dawn of the 21st century, trains and cars took the place of the basic means of transportation, especially for the middle class which turned its back to practices such as fishing and trading and moved on to industrial zones which were then part of the train and bus network.
