![showing diesel and 3 petrol generators used in 1 house][2] Most businesses started shutting down, banks closed by 1pm as against their usual 4pm, radio stations were not left out as they shut down by 6pm and some by 4pm as against their 24hours broadcast. In the event that the crisis, involving suppliers of petroleum products, was not resolved by the suppliers resuming the supply of petroleum products, my country would have completely shut down, as most business depend on electricity to operate, to power their electronic devices such as latops, phones, computers, atm machines etc. Some other people use inverters to store up electricity and redistribute it but it still requires external electricity to charge its batteries. ![buying petrol in a gallon to power a generator][3] ![an expatriate sourcing for petrol with his gallon on a commercial motorcycle][4] Most petrol/gas stations evidence long queues of not just cars but also of gallons to buy petroleum products for their generators. Some people went as far as removing the tanks of their petrol generators and bringing it to the petrol/gas stations to purchase fuel as the attendants were reluctant to sell petrol in gallons. In conclusion, for any nation to progress electricity must be steady and in plenty of supply which is why the rate of industrialisation in my country is very slow. My government needs to look at alternative sources of power such as renewable energy to prevent the recently averted crisis in the future. Waste to energy and solar energy should be explored as future sources of electricity as this is present in abundance in my country.
