The electric pole visible here caters to various homes through the wires that have been haphazardly setup. They cater to all the electrical needs like storing water, cooling, connectivity, appliances, lighting, life saving instruments etc. Due to frequent power cuts, people resort to alternative sources of power thereby increasing their carbon footprint but also further increasing the temperature of the microclimate. The poles not only are a danger to the urban setting but also are an eye sore. The road infrastructure though good is increasingly encroached upon by cars due increasing numbers and no sufficient space. This creates problem in connectivity via roads due to blockage. Footpaths then are used as roads putting residents in danger.
