Transportation infrastructure is one of the backbones of our cities, and as transportation technology evolves and patterns of mobility change, cities sometimes have to make uncomfortable choices to afford the mobility infrastructure that is demanded. Stuttgart, "the auto-city" in Germany, made many choices that reflect car-oriented urban design in the post-WWII reconstruction era, as car ownership and local auto production boomed. A certain quality of transportation infrastructure for the many here means a decrease in local living quality for the few who live next to the flyover. ![Flyover in Stuttgart, Germany][1] [1]: http://i.imgur.com/NMumMiR.jpg
