in 1974, convergence of syndicates of teachers, doctors, engineers, lawyers and 15 of them, started a new project for their members. The first inhabitants were in the 1980 and 1981. The project is located on a valley on the "Qasyoun" mountain which overlooks on Damascus. The whole project presents a whole new city which is divided to islands, each island has its own services and everything is connected to each other, with all services provided to the extension of the city "Dummar". The key element that i think made the project successful was the new presentation of living in the city but at the same time in a valley which considered as an extension of the city, the new way of living, the new system of building and inhabiting, the unique urban and masterplanning until the people of this area started have a different attitude from the city people, it started to have its own characters. ![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14328174583261198.jpg
