Reduce overall costs by focusing on the core role of a local authority - back to basics approach. -infrastructure - upgrades to some roads and power supply - Housing - introduce new system for measuring property values as people tend to base a property's value on the government valuation (GV). - Reduce costs and compliance associated with building Consents. - Change the allowable cut and fill for new residential builds in order to limit the impact on the natural contour of the land, reducing flooding risk. - Upgrade water waste pipes - Promote city to business as an alternative location to Wellington CBS Q5.
