2. I live in the suburbs of Madrid and one of its major satellite villages (Alcobendas). The reasons I moved there were: - proximity to the airport while still very close to the major urban area (Madrid) - schooling for kids - quietness and green zones / possibilities for recreation - format of urbanization (low rise / townhouses / houses) - not far from job site with adequate access. 3. Level of fulfillment of my livability criteria: I would say close to 90% while Alcobendas and Madrid maybe around 75%. 4. What would I change: the area was not prepared to absorb, at peak hours, the number of vehicles that move as a consequence of school entry / exit hours and the increased requirement of public transportation (due to the increase in population). Traffic measures and road directions changes should be put in place to improve the comfort of people. 5. Where would I move? To be honest I don't see any reason to move though as this is a professional possibility, I would choose relatively small international cities like Zurich, Boston or Barcelona. Though characteristics are not the same for all, what I would be in search of would be: small but with good international connectivity and good community of expats and business circles, good universities, environmental concerns properly dealt with, great level of municipal information and ... proximity to the sea!!
