The Republic and Canton of Geneva is the french speaking part of the westernmost state of Switzerland, with te particularity that Geneva is surrounded on all sides by another Country : France, and…. by mountains. You will understand seeing the map of Switzerland, and in RED on the map, GENEVA. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canton_of_Geneva#/media/File:Karte_Lage_Kanton_Genf_2015.png][2] You see Geneva itself, and all around FRANKREICH (means France in German) With such a situation (borders West, borders South, borders East….) it’s easy to rapidly realize the situation, in terms of demographic, livability, expansion and transportation terms. This city is is one of the best cities to live in the world, (Mercer, 2016.02.23) .... [http://www.mercer.com/newsroom/western-european-cities-top-quality-of-living-ranking-mercer.html][3] ..... because close to natural sites such as mountains, huge lake, and huge parts already used for agriculture and forests (in yellow, pink, and green on this map) [https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Genève#/media/File:Agglomeration-Geneve.jpg][4] Since 2001, a project to "aggregate" Geneva with some nearby towns in France was prepared, with the goal to prepare a better place to live and work, with an high life quality. Major topics for theses reasonings and thinkings are : urbanization, mobility, habitat, economy, environment, schools and universities, health, culture, and international relations. Of course for such a project are very present locals, politics and internationals who influences the concept. The initial project gave an answer to the development by enlarging the existing buldings IN the city of Geneva, an evolution came, by enlarging the area with larger transportations possibilities, and of course a lot of against-drafts, telling that Geneva has other possibilities of expansion along the lake. For example in U form, where good public transportations are already there, and not in "star form *" where the public transportation had to be enlarged or… created. I am wondering if the future town will stay a town in a rural territory, protecting further the nature? Any way… Geneva NEED to have a Territorial Design! As usual, your comments are welcome!
