-Climate : I believe climate is a major livability criteria. It defines the way people live their live in a city. I have live in very hot cities and it the lack of public recreational areas reflected that. People live indoors and very rarely walk outside. Although I do think it’s just as problematic to live in very cold cities, mild to cold climates make for much more livable cities in my opinion -Culture A city is by definition a cluster of creativity and intellectual exploration. Culture is a big component to the urban life and enriches the urban experience. -Housing People’s ability to have the choice to live inside or outside the city, near or far from the center, plays a big role in my vision of a livable city. City centers need to be more than just for shopping but should also house people. -Job opportunities Jobs determine the purchasing power and by extension the way people live. Cities attract people because they offer a better life and should also offer better conditions -Safety People should be able to live their lives freely and know they’re safe regardless of the time of the day 2. I live in Paris, France and the main livability criteria in my city are : -Transportation -Education -International Connectivity .Recreation possibilities -Culture ![enter image description here][1] Paris has a very efficient and dense public transport system. The city itself is fairly walkable which can be a good alternative to crowded metros. There is also a good system of public metropolitan bikes that are usable with the metro card. The Paris transport system is also affordable and very well integrated. I am a student in Paris and the city has some of the best universities in the world, as well as a large number of facilities to satisfy students’ needs. Education is free in France which allows student to have more freedom to choose what degree they wish to pursue. Paris is famous for its park that are not only used as postcard backgrounds but are very much used by citizens throughout the year. Parisian live outdoors and enjoy eating in parks and spending time outside. The city offer a wide variety of recreation possibilities from public swimming pools to football clubs. 3. -Transportation 95 -Education 85 -International Connectivity 80 .Recreation possibilities 95 -Culture 98 Paris General Livability 80 4. Paris can be quite overwhelming for student. Affordable accommodation is more and more scarce and students struggle to find a place to live. The city needs more student accommodation near schools and inside the city center. 5. Copenhagen-Dublin-Glasgow -Environment -Climate -Job opportunities -Housing -Friendly People Copenhagen is a very livable city in my opinion. If I move I want to live in a relatively smaller city with a slower pace. Climate is also a factor because summers are getting warmer in Paris and I prefer colder climates. France has a very rigid economy and that could be an issue for young and ambitious people. I am interested in a city that is young and more vibrant than Paris. I don’t think I can live in a city with a metro as I find it very stressful, I’d much rather walk or cycle. Although Parisians are not as rude as they’re portrayed, they can be quite cold and aggressive. Most of my friends in paris are expats and that is something we all agree on. I also want to live in a city that's closer to wild forest and with a much more human scale [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14458044442742818.png
