Katra contains the temple of a significant Hindu deity with a large number of believers coming in from all over the country to travel for kilometers on the mountain beyond, to reach the temple. The increase in number of pilgrims has put significant pressure on the local and national governments to increase connectivity and provide better facilities to the town. The image is taken outside a state-government run bus stand, which also doubles up as a town-square. Telecommunication lines, water supply pipes, electricity cables and state-transport buses are interspersed amongst lodging facilities, eateries and a constant travelling stream of pilgirms, with the temple situated a few kilometers up in the mountain. The town was only accessible to a few pilgrims earlier, before improved road and rail connectivity. But with new highways and rail lines built almost to the foothills of the mountain range, the town's urbanism has transformed considerably![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14180771153365261.jpg
