This photograph of an outdoor food court at night near Taksim Square in Istanbul shows a reliance on electricity infrastructure. The physical systems that supply energy throughout these kinds of areas in Istanbul are easy to ignore until the energy stops flowing (power cuts are fairly regular). The city's energy infrastructure are important for this aspect of Turkish cultural life and therefore an important part of the human habitat.
