The photo I have uploaded was taken in Hongkong Central area. This high rise building acts as single entity whose life is highly dependent on electricity to maintain its micro climate. An airy, cool and comfortable area to work on summer days and also a warm work space on winter days. It needs vertical transportation system (elevators, escalators) to move people between floors. On the urban area where land is scarce and the only option is to built up and above, vertical transportation system become increasingly important to support our mobility. Therefore, infrastructure and urban system become more and more important since in the future, we will see more and more buildings towering up.
