[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14160854584061068.jpg I live in a rural setting, in a suburb of the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The area I live is surrounded by farm fields. Visible in the picture is a small country road, and power lines, being carried by a tall pole. Our electricity comes from these power lines, and if these lines weren't here, or didn't come out of the city this far, we wouldn't be able to live where we do. This road right here leads into the first town, which provides access to bigger/busier roads that can take you into even bigger cities, and eventually Minneapolis if you want. By having this infrastructure, we can live outside any cities and towns, where it is quiet and we have land, and yet be close enough and have the ability to quickly access other needed resources if need be.
