![enter image description here][1] Here I have a picture of powerlines in my city. These wires supply houses with electricity that allows us to heat and cool our houses, cook food on the stove, have light so that we can work later in the day, connect to the Internet (so that I can take this class), and other things. Electricity is a big source of energy that we rely on the powerlines to supply us with. Because this so greatly affects the liveability of the city, and how the city can connect itself to the outside world, it is a crucial part of urban design, especially because these structures take up material space. We need to make sure they are as efficient as possible, and that they disrupt the environment around them as little as possible. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14162672469796877.jpg
