We could hardly imagine the life without them today. When new blocks of flats are built all the utilities need to be brought to the building and building is then connected to them. In the picture we can see such a situation, where is a pavement leading to the newly built bocks of flats. In the pavement we see a revision pit for sewer network and cutout box (switchgear) right next to the pavement. In the background we can see a fence around excavation for new water pipes connecting to the existing ones.
