A kid rides the train in Singapore with his father. To maximise the capacity of the carriage, the seats are arranged in a bench arrangement facing inwards. However, kids are interested in the views out the windows, and thus stand or kneel on the seats to look out the windows. This is dangerous, forcing the parents to physically hold onto the kids as the train moves. This is an example of a design decision that maximises one good at the expense of the interests of another party. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14158833693859204.jpg
