The photo above illustrates the central train station in Auckland City, used by thousands of commuters on a daily bases for means of travel to work and university. This is supported by other public transport networks in the area, these being ferry terminals and bus stations. This train station has a huge impact on the city as it reduces the amount of people travelling in private automobiles. Auckland has severe traffic congestion caused by the predominant use of private cars over public transport Britomart provides a better alternative for people that reduces travel time and improves connectivity for the wider region. This also better serves those in poorer areas where people can't afford to own a car. Trains that travel on the railway network use software guiding systems that are automated for safe and efficient travel. Software also programmes traffic signals, travel time boards and automated loud speaker messages within the station. Britomart station is an example of the combination of physical infrastructure entwined with software, the way infrastructure is going. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14180318283147731.png
