Here is the master plan of Hafencity, the newest neighborhood planned in the beautiful city of Hamburg, Germany. The local municipality decided to tare down all the depots and silos which was a property of the harbor. They planned residential and commercial spaces but keeping the cranes as a memory of the old times. The Elbe canals have a significant role for the city because the financial contributions which resulted from water trading developed the city and attracted inhabitants seeking for jobs.
