One example for this wired character of cities and that informations represent their organic quality is that of traffic maps. Depending on the time of the day streets are filled more with vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians or less, and one can guess what causes that traffic (rush hours when commuters get to their work or back home, when on Black Friday or Boxing Day people rush into the stores to buy en masse, at other times go to sports or cultural events, or other). The hot spots make clear where the people work, where they live, and where they buy or participate in events, enjoy shows and entertainment etc. Streets cover the cities like giant webs and they are the veins through which the city life streams from one organ to another. ![New York Traffic on Google Maps, 05:40 a.m. (EDT)][1] *New York Traffic on Google Maps, 8th October 2014, 05:40 a.m. (EDT)* ![Shanghai Traffic on Google Maps, 06:24 p.m. (CST)][2] *Shanghai Traffic on Google Maps, 06:24 p.m. (CST)* ![Real-Time Traffic Information in Shanghai, 4th August 2010, ca. 09:00 p.m. (CST)][3] *Real-Time Traffic Information in Shanghai, 4th August 2010, ca. 09:00 p.m. (CST)* [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14127620528780521.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14127640525421812.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14127621815872087.jpg
