Health Care, International Connectivity, Safety, Education, Infrastructure/ Transportation Q2. Why do we live where we live? I should rephrase this question to “why I still live in Hong Kong (HK)?” because I was born in HK. Given that HK does have a number of advantages meeting my top livability criteria, this is a clear reason why I still live in HK. HK owns an excellent health system including professional medical teams, safe drugs and well-developed medical facilities to prevent the outbreak of contagious diseases in the community and to provide health care to patients. Having a unique geographical position, HK has absolute advantages for connecting to neighbor cities/ countries to build partnership and attract business investments and becomes an international financial hub. HK takes the initiative to make city planning, resulting in well-developed infrastructure and transportation which are essential to encourage economic development, expedite communications, avoid traffic jams and facilitate sustainable development. With satisfactory education system (generally), a very high percentage of children attend schools to learn for preventing illiteracy. To combat and prevent crimes Law enforcement agencies including HK Police, HK Customs and Immigration Department dedicate to ensuring a safe and stable society. Although every aspect has room for improvement, in general, HK is still a dynamic and livable city! Q3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? Health Care 95/100, International Connectivity 95/100, Safety 90/100, Education 85/100, Infrastructure/ Transportation 90/100 General livability score 90/100 Q4. What would you change? Despite impressive education system, most students in HK learn in a spoon-feeding way which is widely criticized. Better communications between the government and the citizens promotes mutual understanding and provides opportunities to social issues. Q5. Why do we move? The major reason why people move to other place to live is the lack of sense of safety (physical and psychological). ![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14444465586239312.jpg
