Why do we live where we live?** I live in Amaliada, a small town of 20.000 in southern Greece. 1) Family 2) environment/location by the sea 3) climate 4) housing 5) recreational opportunities ![Amaliada][1]![Amaliada livable for children ![\]\[2\]][2] ![Amaliada beach][3] ![Amaliada beach sunset][4] **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria?** 1) economy/jobs 20 2) climate 90 3) culture 20 4) transportation 30 5) housing 80 **4. What would you change?** I would try to expand and improve motorways and railways, connect the city with near airports. Most of all, I would try to establish networks for local agicultural commodities trading, with appropriate infrastructures, in order to boost local economy. **5. Why do we move?** **Volos**, a 100.000 city in central Greece would be my first choice. Big enough to keep you interested and ocupied and small enough to be quiet and pleasant. It is wonderfully located between the beautiful mount Pelion and the Aegean sea. It has a University, Hospital, an extended bicycle network, many parks and open spaces. You can ride or walk everywhere. If I was to move away from Greece, I would probably choose a Mediterranean metropolitan city, like **Barcelona**. It is warm, vivid, provides excellent transportation, has interesting architecture, famous culture and is quite affordable. My third choice would be some Italian city, as **Florence**. Of course, my first reason would be culture. Climate, environment, recreational opportunities and transportation would follow.
