1.- Safety 2.- Sanitation standards 3.- Job opportunities 4.- Recreation possibilities 5.- Transportation Q2. Why do I live in Miraflores, Lima 1.- Safety 2.- Recreation possibilities 3.- Organized with good governance (also most people pay taxes, this is not the case for the half of the city districts) 4.- Ornament, with green areas and pretty views 5.- Everything neccesary is near to my home !["Parque del amor" Park on the cliff by the Pacific ocean][1] ![Sunset in the Pacific ocean][2] ![Miraflores' cliffs][3] ![Paragliding taking off][4] ![Flowerts at Keneddy's park][5] !["Balta" Little Mall][6] !["Las Brujas de Cachiche" Restaurant][7] I moved to Lima, the capital city of Peru, 4 years ago from my hometown Cusco. Although Cusco is a beautiful city and I love it is very different from Lima, like the rest of the cities in Peru. Lima is the capital city, the biggest, concentrates a third of the country's population and is full of opportunities and options. It also has the best and most prestigious universities in the country. The reason I moved was education, unfortunately Cusco has only 3 universities and none of them is outstanding, the best university in Peru in Law (my career) is here in Lima, also my parents found better jobs. As I said Lima is a big city, is also very diverse, is divided into approximately 43 very different districts, from very safe, organized, ornamented with a wide cultural offer, to dangerous, without running water and other basic services as well as infrastructure . My family spent a lot of time looking for an apartment in the district of Miraflores because of its caracteristics, also fortunately possible locations were relatively near to university and work. My family and I already knew part of this city quite well, that is the reason why we decided to find a home in this district. Is a middle class district where the prices of apartments are afordable, attractive for tourist, full of cultural offers, near to the ocean, with a lot of parks, good local goverment, safe, traditional, wide offer of restaurants and fun, in sum all that anyone needs, and given that Lima is very big and we don't own a car is important to have all services near. Q3 Fullfilment of ideal livability criteria Accordign to my criteria, from 1-100, Miraflores 80. The only things I don't like are the climate, the traffic and public transportation. General livability score for the city of Lima: 50, livability is very good in some districts but in others is virtually nonexistent. Q4. What I woud change My district goes very well but I would implement more measures for assuring safety such as more collaborative work between police and district security. Also is important for me that rules (law) are respected, lately more and more people break urban planning and zoning rules, is necessary to make sure all rules are respected in order not to generate disorder. On the other hand ecology is important too as well as having a district with cleaner air, in order to achieve this I would implement more green areas (noy only grass but trees and other plants), discourage the use of motorized vehicles that run on gasoline, remove half of the parkinglots and definitely not build a parking below the largest and most important park of the district, as it is doing now the mayor. I would also initiate a more ambitious program than the current for proper management of solid waste , I think it should be mandatory to separate the solid waste into categories that allow the reuse and recycling as well as an improved disposal of hazardous waste. Q5. I would move to 1.- Cartagena - Colombia. 1) Beautiful city and good food 2) Good climate and cultural offer 3) Safer than other cities 4) Colombian culture is alike peruvian 5) Organized city 2.- Buenos Aires - Argentina 1) Outstanding city in the region 2) Great cultural offer (specially books) 3) Safer than other cities 4) Climate 5) Organized city 3.- Fribourg - Switerland 1) Very organized city 2) All services needed in good quality 3) Safe 4) Climate 5) Beautiful city [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502041687392827.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502042669579799.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502043155045571.jpg [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502044501634138.jpg [5]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502048926091143.jpg [6]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502047744019954.jpg [7]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502049475784572.jpg
