a. Political Stability b. Job Opportunities c. Health Care d. Education e. Environment **2.Why do we live where we live?** I moved to Glasgow from Greece and the reason is to study for a postgraduate degree. The reason I am still in Glasgow is that I found a job here. So for me the most important criterion that determines the place I live is the “Job Opportunities”. However, this comes after the “Political Stability”, with the war in Syria as the recent example. So, in case the two previous criteria are considered resolved, the next most important is healthcare and education. Healthcare is free in Scotland, every citizen in Glasgow has access to free healthcare, where even the prescriptions for medicines are free. Furthermore, there are no tuition fees in public schools and undergraduate studies which gives equal opportunities for everyone to be educated. ![University of Glasgow, Glasgow, United Kingdom][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14496706665525566.jpg Photo: University of Glasgow, Glasgow, United Kingdom Finally, in case all the above livability criteria are resolved, the 5th most important criterion is the environment, the air we breathe, the water we drink etc. **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria?** a. Political Stability (80) b. Job Opportunities (70) c. Health Care (90) d. Education (80) e. Environment (70) **4. What would you change?** I would try to: a. Provide shelter for refugees, homeless and poor. b. Create jobs with equal opportunities for all, and provide funding to unemployed c. Ensure that healthcare services don't take too long (e.g. 4 months waiting list to see a specialist) d. Free books for all the students e. Invest in decarbonisation of transport and built environment **5. Why do we move?** We move because we have needs that are not covered in the city where we live. There not a single city in the planet that could be ideal for all the humans. Each one of us has his own criteria. I can't name 3 cities, but I would consider to move to a place which is democratic and politically stable, with job opportunities, with free healthcare and education for everyone, and where people care about the environment.
