- Housing; - Sanitation standards; - Transportation; - Safety; - Environment. 2. Why do we live where we live? I live in Porto Alegre, Brazil, because: - Porto Alegre is the main city of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, so here is where the best opportunities are; - There is a great College here, where I'm studying now. That's the main reason why I moved to Porto Alegre; - There are lots of cultural activities; - In the central part of the city you can always find opened bars and people on the street during the night; - It's a big city that looks a little bit like a city from the country side with a good number of green area and small family shops and markets. ![Picture by Adriana Franciosi][1] 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfillyour ideal livability criteria? My place of residence: 60 The city: 50 4. What would you change? The place where I live is very dangerous. We hear about robberies and murders almost everyday, even on daytime. To emprove livability in my place of residence I would absolutly start by safety. I believe this is actualy a social problem, but as fast alternative could be to send more policemen to the street and to ensure street lighting. 5. Why do we move? Cities I would move to: - Copenhagen (Denmark); - New Yourk (USA); - Montreal (Canada); - São Paulo (Brazil); - Stockholm (Sweden). Well, considering that I am a young person I would move to a big city, so I can have better job opportunities. I did also choose these cities because they have an active night life and for me this is something really important. According to my top five list, housing and sanitation standads are very important for livability and I believe that the five cities that I indicated have no huge problems about that. Copenhagen is on the top of the list because of the transportation and environment. I got really facinated when I first met Copenhagen; this model of city is something I can hardly imagine here in Brazil. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14566311067323621.jpg
