• Job opportunities • Housing • Transportation • Health care • Recreational Activities **2. Why do we live where we live?** Family: Quito is where I grew up and where my family lives. Neighborhood: My neighborhood is safe and clean. Housing: Housing is comfortable and prices are affordable. Connectivity: The location of the apartment complex where I live is at the main avenue that connects to the northern center where I work and spend most of the time. Climate: Climate in Quito is mild: There are neither too hot nor too cold temperatures. There used to be rainy and sunny seasons, but nowadays seasons are more irregular and there are fewer rains. ![Apartment Complex][1] ![Apartment Complex - View to street][2] **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria?** ![Table 3-3][3] General score: 70 **4. What would you change?** I would definitely improve the quality of transportation services. The main public transportation services are buses owned by private cooperatives and associations. They are usually overcrowded on rush hours. Many of the buses are old and emit too much combustion gases. There are no schedules and drivers do not always drive safely, because they compete with other bus drivers to get as many passengers as possible. **5. Why do we move?** I selected the following three cities, for the criteria as described below: Berlin: prosperous economy, design driven, wide range of cultural events, efficient public transportation, green spaces (forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes). Helsinki: prosperous economy, design driven, small but comfortable, public places, efficient public transportation. Sidney: prosperous economy, recreational / cultural activities, natural surroundings, climate, internationally oriented. **Photos:** self taken [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14579229061455161.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14579229469520343.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14579227994555641.jpg
