1. Infrastructure 2. Safety 3. Recreation Opportunities 4. Culture 5. Economy **2. Why do we live where we live?** I live in Missoula, Montana, USA. The main reason I live here is because it is where my University is located. ![Univeristy of Montana original building][1] I also love the city of Missoula because it is surrounded by nature in every direction, and outdoor recreation opportunities are plentiful. ![Fly fishing on the Blackfoot River][2] Coming from Oakland, CA it is also nice to live in a smaller city with little traffic congestion, crime and other big city issues. ![Missoula overlook][3] v ![Oakland overlook][4] Missoula is very community oriented. There are constant events to keep the community together and supportive including community gardens, beer festivals, etc. Finally, I love the diversity of weather. Really cold during winter, Really hot during summer. **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria?** I would rank Missoula as an 81 General Livability = 77 **4. What would you change?** The first thing I would do is to improve public transportation. I would try to invest in a light rail system that connects the city with the rest of the Bitterroot. The rail infrastructure is already there, it just isn't being used. I would also put a moratorium on all new construction until walk-ability and connectivity of every neighborhood is accessed. **5. Why do we move?** Malmö, Sweden Portland, OR, USA Bozeman, MT, USA I would live in these places for greater job opportunities. I believe that they are all well located, medium or small sized cites. Malmö and Portland are well planned and organized cities with good infrastructure and transportation. They are all reasonably close to nature, and are reasonably safe. Each have their own unique culture, although I would be drawn to the cultures of Malmö and Bozeman the most.
