![Top Liveability Criteria][1] **2. Why do we live where we live?** I was born and live in Lisbon (Portugal). Here are five reasons why I live in Lisbon: 1. Since I am currently a student of Architecture, the “Education” factor is very important to me at the moment, and in Lisbon, I study and work in a very good university for architects and engineers. 2. Lisbon is an historical city with wonderful architecture and cultural events. For architecture and art students it is a source of inspiration. I love to go out and explore the city, visit museums, attend classical music concerts or the ballet. Lisbon is a very rich city in these aspects. 3. The city is also committed to making people a priority instead of the car. Public squares and parks are undergoing many changes and are being returned to the pedestrians and cars are being pushed back to the outskirts of the city. This increases the quality of the environment and the safety of the city. 4. Lisbon is not a very big city so it’s easy to move around the city and find familiar people everywhere. There is a very strong sense of community and belonging, especially in the neighbourhoods, and that is very important to me. I feel connected to my neighbours and feel like I make a significant impact in my community. 5. Lisbon has a great climate: it is usually sunny and has comfortable temperatures, which is an invitation to go outside and exercise by the riverside and. For me, this has a strong impact in my daily happiness and health. **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfil your ideal liveability criteria?** ![Lisbon Scores][2] A general liveability score, considering these and other factors, would be: 75/100. **4. What would you change?** The first measure I would take to improve liveability would be to increase the quality of job opportunities in the city, by making legislation that focuses on recent-college graduates while still keeping it attractive for companies and businesses. **5. Why do we move?** It is inevitable that I will have to move after I finish my Masters. Lisbon has very poor job opportunities for recent-graduates, especially in the construction sector. The three cities where I would move to are: London (United Kingdom), Porto (Portugal) and Dublin (Ireland). ![Criteria for the cities I would move to][3] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14585099073435624.png [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1458510017480092.png [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14585101159687737.png
