Safety Environment Transportation Job opportunities Health care 2.Why do we live where we live? Current city : Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Why I live here : Its a semi suburban city close to Akron, which is largely a university town and we wanted to live in a residential neighbourhood which is not dominated by the student population. The accessibility to basic amenities ( supermarkets, parks, healthcare etc) without having to depend on a public transport. The access to various natural environments – lakes, metro parks, beach and the river. Affordability – Being able to rent a decent amount of square footage and not being crammed into a tiny space for the price. Safety. ![enter image description here][1] The Cuyahoga river ![enter image description here][2] Falls square river side walkway ![enter image description here][3] Walkable neighbourhoods & safety ![enter image description here][4] The built to open space ration is fairly 40:60 in most parts of the city 3.To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? Safety – 80% Environmanet – 95% Transportation – 50% Job opportunities – 60% Health Care – 80% Overall I would like to pin 70% as livability criteria in Cuyahoga falls. Since it is a small city, the public transportation system is minimal and it can be tough if you don’t own a car in the city. Coming from a bustling city in India, it was hard to find this much greenery and open space and that is one thing i love about this place. The access to local agriculture and farms is something fascinating and even though there are climate constraints, during the produce season, you have the option to go pick your own veggies / meat from local farms. The concept of Community supported Agriculture is upcoming here. 4.What would you change? Public transportation. Increase of recreational activities. 5.Why do we move? Better job opportunities, affordability, economic factors. In the US of A, I would like to move to either Columbus, OH or North Carolina. In India, it would be Bangalore. The factors that played a role in these decisions: Education, Job opportunities, Environment, Transportation, Healthcare [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14446590841321953.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14446589148074622.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14446591071478433.jpg [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14446591323022905.jpg
