**1. Livability Criteria** Environment, Healthcare, Education, Economy, Education **2. Why do we live where we live?** Right now I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 1) I suppose the first and largest reason I live here is because I go to school here! 2) I live here because it is in the United States and that is where I grew up, and therefore the place where I can go to college. 3) Cambridge is largely known as a hub for education and innovation. 4) The city is clean, beautiful, has great transportation. 5) The area is comfortable culturally. Its still in the United States. **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria?** I would have to rate Cambridge as a 90 for me personally. Cambridge is a very expensive city to live in so I feel like if I wasn't in college where I am being provided for the livability would go down. I know that people here must struggle with working low wage jobs and affording to live in an area where a large percentage of the population is highly educated. I would say in general Cambridge would probably receive a 70. 4. I would raise the minimum wage. I may not have that power as a mayor, but I think that would be the first step toward trying to make sure that people in the area can afford housing and basic needs. 5. 1) Austin, Texas - I identify with the area culturally (its very liberal), its close to home, still fairly urban (there is a lot of activity) and has a lot of job opportunities. 2) Houston, Texas - This area also has a lot of job opportunities and is closer to home, also still urban. 3) Palo Alto, California - I love the weather, the activities, and the culture, my boyfriends family lives here, and there are jobs for engineers. 4) San Diego - also for family, and culture reasons. 5) Brownsville, Texas - This is home. I would move back there to be with my family. The overall trend here is that family is extremely important to my definition of liveablity.
