1. Climate 2. Safety 3. Culture 4. Infrastructure 5. Environment **2. Why do we live where we live?** I live in Athens, Greece which is also my birthplace. The reasons I live here are: 1. Close to family & friends 2. Ideal climate 3. Recreation & cultural possibilities 4. Pleasant & friendly citizens 5. Good transportation The image below is showing the urban sprawl of Athens. ![Urban sprawl of Athens][1] **3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria?** Climate - 100 Safety - 80 Culture - 90 Infrastructure- 60 Environment - 60 General livability score - 70 **4. What would you change?** I would try to propose and implement a plan of demolishing high-density blocks for the sake of open green space. The inhabitants of the demolished parts would move out to newly built neighbourhoods in unbuilt areas of the city (such is the old airport of Athens). The demolition should always take place on the denser and less livable parts of the city, while the newly built neighbourhoods shall meet the highest livability standards, including adequate space for cycle paths, greenery and mixture of uses. If this process is part of an overall new plan, it could lead to a gradual transformation of the whole city, achieving higher livability scores for the future generations. **5. Why do we move?** The main reason to move would be a job opportunity and an opportunity to gain new experiences from different cultures. In that case I wouldn't have the possibility to choose the place. However the 3 cities I would prefer to move and their 5 qualities are: Munich 1. Close to relatives & friends 2. Open green spaces for sports & recreation 3. Cycling possibility 4. Interresting culture & architecture 5. Close to ski resorts Berlin 1. Close to relatives & friends 2. Interesting culture & architecture 3. Open green spaces for sports & recreation 4. Cycling possibility 5. Multicultural citizens London 1. Close to friends 2. Job opportunities 3.
