Which are your top livability criteria? 1. Environment 2. Safety 3. Culture 4. Education 5. Health care Why do we live where we live? I live in the city of Bath in the South West UK. I live here because 1. I came home to care for my elderly father. 2. the city is small, ‘human scale’ and very beautiful. 3. good education facilities for my daughter. 4. Friends and family nearby. 5. I can find work and education options which fit around my caring responsibilities. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? On a scale from 1-100 I would rate Bath 70 A general livability score for my city, 75 What would you change? I would legislate to ensure affordability of housing, and sufficient supply of the types of housing actually needed in the area. I would also work to improve public transport and reduce congestion in the city. Why do we move? A. Copenhagen, Denmark – 1. Size and scale, 2. Environment/green city/transport/bicycles, 3. friendly and welcoming, 4. job and education opportunities 5. Political Ethos and culture B. Hobart, Tasmania – 1. Size and scale, 2. Climate, 3. Environment, 4. Friendly, relaxed, welcoming. 5. Great food and horticulture culture and opportunities C. Singapore – because I like to experience contrasts and things I do not know. This would be very different to past experience and a very interesting – although I would have to live there to really understand what those differences are and how such a different city works. A good way to learn and challenge my assumptions about big tall cities. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14456929672876425.jpg
