However, even if there were more options available, I would still walk up to my University. The journey takes about 12 minutes and I am confident that these aspects positively impacts on my overall daily well-being: • It fosters my **independence** and is totally **adaptable** to my own timetable and my own pace, so I don’t have to rely on the other vehicles’ schedules (metro and bus). Also, I **avoid traffic congestions** and I **save money**, while also supporting the environment along the way; • It allows me to clear my head and leads to a subsequent **decrease of my stress levels**. I believe it assures me an improved feeling of **well-being**. In fact, walking early in the morning enhances my academic performance in terms of **attention/alertness** and overall **reasoning abilities**; • I feel a higher degree of pleasantness and higher levels of happiness, excitement and relaxation on my journey to University. When I first arrived to the University, walking also has helped me to create **emotional bonds** with peers and to become familiar with the **natural surroundings** as well.
