![MobilityDiagram][1] Driving to the station to catch a train to work is slightly quicker than walking to the station and I take this option (Route 2) if there is very bad weather, or if I am running late and really need to catch a specific train, or if I know I need the car when I get back from work, for example if I will be returning late at night and prefer not to walk in the dark. However, I much prefer option 1, walking to the station to go to work: it usually implies that the weather is fine, which is uplifting in itself, it is more environmental and it gives me the opportunity to do some exercise; it makes me feel healthier and it makes me relax, looking at the houses and gardens along the way, gathering my thoughts for the day ahead. Going to the station by car on the other hand, can actually be quite frustrating because depending on circumstances there can be a long queue at the traffic light and parking near the station is limited so it may be necessary to drive around looking for a spot and then allow time to walk from the parked car to the station.
