I usually commute to the University of Guayaquil by car because it takes me around 15 minutes in normal traffic conditions; however, in traffic jams the time extends to 20 or 30 minutes. The main benefit of using the car is the relative short time in comparison to other means of transports such as the Mass Rapid Transport called Metrovia, regular buses, walking and bicycling. The drawbacks of using the car to reach my destination are: 1) the contribution to the environmental pollution (air and noise); 2) the waste of unnecessary non-renewable energy; 3) the traffic worsening in the avenues Carlos Julio Arosemena, Las Monjas, Circunvalación and Delta and; 4) the contribution to residents’ health deterioration and; 5) the diminishing of the social capital among opposite neighbourhoods due to the vehicle-provoked-fracture. Concerning to happiness, the trip makes me feel fairly uncomfortable because of the diary traffic jams in the route and the university sometimes. **Route 2** It takes me around 34 minutes to reach the destination, however the deficient pedestrian infrastructure such as insufficient sidewalk with along the Carlos Julio Arosemena Avenue, obstructions, sun exposure and heavy traffic in Carlos Julio Arosemena Avenue, make me avoid selecting this means of transport. Benefits can be summarized in health improvement by reducing the risk of acquiring many diseases, ![enter image description here][1] ![enter image description here][2] ![enter image description here][3] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14484813443850681.png [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14484815622303138.png [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14484816092600716.png
