I have been taking route one for about 6 months. Route 2 seems to be easier, but since the subway is overcrowded it can make me loose time wile I have to wait for a train that has free space. Also sometimes the subway has a delay making it harder to get in. For this reason the bus turns out to be more comfortable. The reason why I don't walk to work (route 2) instead of walk, take a bus and walk again (route 1) is because of the climate, topography and insecurity. I live in the tropic climate so it is uncomfortable to walk up a hill by 500 mts under great solar incidence.
