In bad weather, my second option is to take the streetcar, which runs on its own right-of-way in the center of the street. There are streetcar stops directly in front of my apartment building and directly in front of my office. The streetcars in Toronto are electric, so they cause very little pollution. Because of the dedicated right-of-way, this mode of transport is very fast and efficient, and the trams run very frequently. The streetcar takes less than five minutes between home and office. On route, the streetcar goes underground through the north-south subway station, which gives me excellent access to the downtown core. The subway station is only 200 meters from my home. My third option is to drive to work. I only use my car on days when I have to travel from my office to appointments or meetings in other parts of the city. Because of the dedicated streetcar right-of-way, I cannot simply drive to work. I must drive east to the next intersection and make a u-turn to get to my office, which is west of my home. The return trip requires me to go west, make a u-turn to proceed home. Because of this, driving takes longer than either walking or streetcar, usually about ten minutes. This delay is also due to heavy traffic on my street, particularly at morning and evening rush hour. My walk to work is extremely pleasant and enriching. I would give it a score of 95 out of 100. ![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14485933238373648.jpg
