- Safety - Job opportunities - Health care - Culture - Public transportation 2. Why do I live where I live (in Singapore) - Job opportunities brought us here as expats - Asian mixed culture: we never experienced living in SEA before, close to many interesting travelling destinations and we LOVE the food - Climate: tropical and lush green surroundings we find attractive - Safety: Singapore is a very safe city which is with young kids especially important - Housing & neighbourhood: with sufficient allowance (expat package or decent salary) you can live in a great house or appartment in green Singapore (we live right next to lush tropical forest park which is amazing). Neighbourhood feel is good – locals and most expats are very socially engaged and active which is very nice to experience. ![enter image description here][1]![enter image description here][2]![enter image description here][3]![enter image description here][4]!![enter image description here][5] 3. To a very large extend does our residence fulfill our ideal livability criteria. Would we live closer by an MRT station that would be even more ideal however, and I would applaud many more bicycle paths. Job opportunities are abundant although not for part-time interests; those type of contracts are uncommon in this city. Rest is super score. So all in all I’d say for our residency: 70% and for the city as a whole 80% 4. What would you change? First measure would be in transportation: increase road safety by forbidding back truck seaters and strict control on this and on wearing safety belts and kids in proper safety seats inside cars. Furthermore give absolute priority to commuters on foot and bicycle which means heavy investing in dense city-wide connector path systems with purpose not (just) for recreation but for really travelling from a to b, with good access to MRT stations provided with sufficient bicycle parking stands. 4. I would love to move to: - Breda (Netherlands): living close to family, old beautiful city with canals and 19th century houses and center, ‘forests’/rural landscape surrounding city, job opportunities, big enough to have everything, small enough for good neighbourhood feeling. - Luxemburg for its charming old European city-feel, beautiful surrounding nature, international community, good job opportunities, nearby/nearer by family in Holland. - Panama: for its location (America’s area), Spanish language, culture (music & dance), great expat adventure and job/volunteering possibilities [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14453504363649054.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14453504575404633.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1445350484592631.jpg [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14453505031609291.jpg [5]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14453505972694492.jpg
