**Route 1** This option starts with a 7 min. walk to the train station. I walk by rows of small shops and under mature trees in a boulevard. It is an interesting milieu, pleasant for all senses. Since the sidewalk is wide and separated by greenery from car traffic, there is almost no encounter with motorized traffic. Therefore, it is also a very safe walk. I ride the train for just one station (5 min.), usually standing. I change then to another railway line, on a platform next to the one I arrived to. Since I get on the train in its departure station, I can always find a free seat. This is very convenient, since it is possible to study, read and even work with a laptop during the ride, which is relatively long. After 35 min. I change to a third train, which I ride just for 2 stations (5 min.). At last, it takes 15 min. to reach the campus by foot. This is a pleasant walk through the university campus. The total commuting time is 104 min. This option is best for rainy and snowy days, it secures a seat in the train but it takes more time compared with Route 2. **Route 2** This option starts with a bicycle ride (10 min.). I then get on a train, but, in contrast to Route 1, a seat is not guaranteed, thus the ride is more tiring and it is more bothersome to study or read, even though it is 5 min. shorter. After 30 min. I change to a third train, which I ride just for 2 stations (5 min.). At last, it takes 15 min. to reach the campus by foot. This is a pleasant walk through the university campus. The total commuting time is 57 min. This option makes sense if the weather is fine and if I do not have necessarily to work while riding the train. The train ride is more stressful but it is shorter.
