-Recreational activities -Transportation -Housing -Environment -Economy 2. Why We Live Where We Live I currently live in Truckee mainly because I got a job here and had to relocate. However, I am very active and love being outdoors. Truckee is perfect because I can hike, fish, hunt, waterski, camp/backpack and the winter brings a whole different world of recreational activities with skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, ect. I also enjoy smaller rural towns. I get overwhelmed being in a big city. This is because due to the mountain character of the area life revolves around a person vehicle. The public transportation system is not great, and housing is mainly dominated by wealthy individuals who only vacation here seasonly, make it hard/expensive to find housing for the year-round housing. Truckee has hand down the best recreational activities and social environment. Everyone who lives here does so because of the recreation activities. The whole community is active and enjoys the environment, which means that we also take good care of the natural environment as well. 4. What Would You Change I would look into more affordable housing opportunities, this could be done through policies that require apartment complexes to rent a minimum 1-3 months at a time. This would discourage seasonal visitors or vacation rentals. I would also try to extend the public transportation system but this requires funding and a significant other factors. 5. Why Do We Move Seattle, Washington Portland, Oregon Austin, Texas Transportation would play a big role. I would be comfortable to live in these bigger cities because they have some of the best public transportation systems in the US. In addition, they all have components of recreational activities, being lakes, rivers, or beaches nearby. They are also well known for their social environment with a nightlife for all ages. These cities are also known for the beer and food, which is something that I enjoy.
