![Travel times and distances][2] Here it is described the way to get from my home to the Architecture School in A Coruña. Metropolitan mobility is mainly vertebrated along two or three high capacity avenues, meaning that both public and private transport will take approximately the same route. They will differ only in times, due to bus stops, and a slightly different route in the end of the route. As my home is just nearby a bus stop, no relevant time is spent from home to the transit stop. Besides, as the University has plenty of space to park the car, finding place is almost inmediate. That is what makes very difficult to raise awareness of the University community about the need of using public transport instead of private car. There are no pedestrian nor bicycle routes because it is absolutely impossible, as the aforementioned avenue acts as a barrier, not allowing people to walk along nor through it. Until last year, there were no alternate options to reach the University, and even now, the alternate route is another urban highway which forbids the access to pedestrians. The local council is trying to implement bicycle lanes and pedestrian walks alongside the avenue, finally allowing pedestrians to normally use this urban space.
