a) Job Opportunities b) Political Stability c) Safety d) Transportation e) Housing 2. Why do we live where we live? - Job opportunity - I moved to Sharjah for the job opportunity it gave me. Being in a specialised sector, there are only few cities who offer job opportunities in my field. - Safety - There is a great sense of personal and social safety - Housing- Affordable and spacious housing - Healthcare - Ample hospitals within a few km radius and clinics at walkable distances - International Connectivity - Dubai, the hub of international travel is within minutes away. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? According to Question 1, a score of 55%. General livability score of 60%. 4. What would you change? The first measure I would take would be to improve public transport facilities (e.g bus frequencies, inter and intra city linkages, mass rapid transit systems) and integrate it with multi modal traffic like private cars and taxis. By doing so, I feel we not only increase mobility and reduce road congestions but we also contribute towards the environment in terms of lesser carbon footprint. 5. Why do we move? If I decide to change residence, I would opt for these cities (in the order) considering political stability and safety a given in these cities: - Delft, Holland - Job opportunity, Infrastructure, Transportation, Climate, Housing - London, UK - Job opportunity, Infrastructure, Transportation, Health care, Environment - Perth, Australia - Job opportunity, Environment, Climate, Infrastructure, Transportation [I have uploaded the photo of the Sharjah suburban area which is relatively calmer.][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14458632796096841.jpg
