Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area? Now that I live in Jakarta, I think Jakarta is the perfect practice of the happening of Urban Heat Island. Located in tropical climate, the heat makes the people want to turn on the air conditioner all day and night that contributes further to the warmth of the city. Many experts have done some research showing that year by year the temperature in Jakarta is increasing gradually. Furthermore, this causes a longer summer than usual. Which are the measures you would propose? To significanly reduce the use of air conditioner or use the lower watt of it, to limit the number of air conditioner in each building, especially in hotel and office tower.
