People Density Curitiba is the main city of a metropolitan area with 3.6 million people. Curitiba itself has 1.9 million inhabitants. Curitiba and its metropolitan region have daily flows (Monday to Friday) from people going to work. The main industrial jobs are located in the south and east of Curitiba. The main service jobs (75% = 900,0000) are located in in downtown and surroundings. Therefore, during the day (especially form Mon to Fri) there is a huge concentration of people in central areas, and also in the south and east parts of Curitiba’s metropolitan area. In the Morning and late Afternoon 0.8 million person uses the public transportation going to work/back home. Food Every day around 2,6 tons of fresh food are received, stocked and sent from CEASA (Centrais Estaduais de Abastecimento). In strategic points around Curitiba several Warehouse facilities receive/store industrialized food from industries around the country before delivering to the big supermarkets. Water Curitiba has an integrated system of water collection/treatment/distribution. The water is collected from 7 springs, treated in 13 Plants, stored in 53 Reservoirs and distributed to every house/commercial-industrial facility. From there the sewage are sent to 5 treatment plants and back to the rivers.
