The picture shows Mercado Rodriguez one of the most relevant markets in La Paz. The visible: It is seen the user of the market, the Cholita, a character of cultural importance. She represents the mixed racial heritage the territory has. It is seen how the markets goods have been sold for decades stablishing a tradition. It is seen the context of the market, perceived as facades of houses made of adobe, and facades of small buildings made of bricks and cement. The invisible: History: the market started in Tambos that growth out of their walls. Analysing the markets expansion can help predict the future growth to better guide this process. Flows and concentration: it’s important to understand the distribution of the market in the urban grid, and analyse the patterns of peoples behaviour, where do they take transport, where do they park their cars, how users move within the market to get the goods to sell them, how the buyers move from sector to sector, and where do the congregate more. This understood in a daily base can help organize the market without losing the traditional aspects, through a project that can organise flows and clear up concentration points.
